Cookie statement
According to the Telecom legislation that was passed in January 2015, Google Analytics falls under the exceptions because this cookie infringes “no or only minor” privacy. In addition, the Google Analytics cookie is a “first party cookie, i.e. the cookie on your computer has “marcushikren.com” in the file name and the data is officially owned by Marcus Hikren and not by Google. This cookie is not used for advertising or other commercial purposes.
In addition to the Telecom Act, the AVG also applies. The use of Google Analytics is also permitted within this law, provided it is set up correctly. This involves four important conditions. (1) There is a processor agreement between Marcus Hikren and Google about the Analytics data. (2) IP addresses are made anonymous so that data can never be traced back to you or your IP address. (3) Marcus Hikren’s Analytics account is set up in such a way that the information may not be shared with others. (4) The visitor is clearly informed about the use of Analytics and has an ‘opt-out’ option (described below).
Marcus Hikren thus meets all legal requirements. The Analytics cookie remains valid for 6 months.
Third-party cookies/social media
Our website includes buttons to promote (‘share’) web pages from marcushikren.com on networks such as Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, Spotify, Soundcloud and Tiktok. These buttons work by means of pieces of code that come from the networks themselves. Cookies may be placed by means of this code. Read the privacy statement of these networks (which can change regularly) to read what they do with your (personal) data that they process via these cookies.
Opt-out for Google Analytics
If you prefer to block the Analytics script completely, you can download an opt-out plugin for Google Analytics here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. With this plugin, your visit no longer counts in the statistics of all websites that use Google Analytics.
Google privacy statement
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies” (small text files placed on your computer) to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (in the case of Marcus Hikren without your IP address) will be transferred to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google uses this information to keep track of how you use this website, to compile reports on website activity for the owner of this website (Marcus Hikren) and to provide other services related to website activity and internet usage. Google may only provide this information to third parties if Google is legally obliged to do so, or insofar as these third parties process the information on behalf of Google. Google will not combine your IP address with other data held by Google. You can refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. However, we would like to point out that in that case you may not be able to use all the features of this website. By using this website, you consent to the processing of the information by Google in the manner and for the purposes described above.
No other cookies
Marcus Hikren does not use any other cookies in addition to the Analytics cookie.
